WHAT DOES “ELOPE” MEAN?
Elope. Eloping. Elopement.
Elope it’s more than just a couple getting on a plane to Vegas and getting married in a chapel with an Elvis impersonator as a minister, or a couple getting married in total secret because their families won’t approve. Elope it’s way more than that, in reality, is the freedom to do their ceremony however they want, without trying to please somebody, it’s a brave couple breaking the mold of how a marriage ceremony should be.
Why Elope in Mexico?
Mexico is for a mile the most popular destination for Americans and Canadians outside of their country, and for good reason, the weather, the food, and the people are nice, good, and amazing. Mexico has more than just some beaches, it has woods, lakes, deserts, architecture, and old towns. Eloping in Mexico has a great selection of amazing places where you can have the certainty that your wedding is going to be something you haven’t seen, and you won’t forget. Mexico is also a cheaper option than many other places especially if you avoid the popular beaches, there are lots of places where you can host your ceremony for a fraction of what could be back in your country, including the flights and accommodations. Mexico is a bastion of talented artists and handicrafts that can make your special day even more special.
You can have your intimate ceremony and make it legal as well, here in Mexico the legal procedure to get married is valid anywhere so you can rest assured that your marriage is legal and valid. Some of my couples decide to get legally married in their hometowns, and get to Mexico to exchange bows, so they can have their dream and their vision of their wedding come to life.
As I mentioned before, Mexico has a great selection of venues and locations to get married, we have the amazing beaches of Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo, but have you heard about Oaxaca’s beaches, here is one of the places with the best food in Mexico. Another option is the Cooper Canyon in Chihuahua, if you like the woods and cooler weather, the Cooper Canyon is located in the north of Mexico and it’s 5 times bigger than the Grand Canyon, or Edward James Castle, located in the middle of Mexico in the state of San Luis Potosí, here it’s a sculpture garden like anything you have seen before, of the Butterfly Sanctuary in Michoacan, where millions of butterflies get together on a mass migration creating an unbelievable sight, this just to name a few, I’m sure I can write a complete book of amazing places to elope in Mexico

One concern that people have when mentioning travel to Mexico, is safety and how clean the water is. Did you know that in 2020 we had 1.6 million Americans living here and that number has gone up since then, Mexico like any other place has its places where it gets a little rough, but in general it’s a safe and good place to be, as for the water most of the places has filtered water, just avoid tap water and you will be fine. Mexico is the punching bag of the media and has the reputation of a bad place to be, but there is a reason why it’s the 6th most visited country in the world, hosting over 38 million people every year. Mexican culture, food, and landscape are amazing and worth the travel.
