Planning your wedding at Secrets Bahía Mita?
After photographing many weddings at the resort, I’ve learned how to make the most of every ceremony location, portrait spot, and sunset. Whether you’re planning an intimate celebration or a large destination wedding, I’ll help you create a relaxed photography experience while capturing genuine moments you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
Most couples just want to enjoy their wedding day without feeling pulled away from the moment. I guide when needed, but focus on capturing everything naturally as it happens.
Secrets Bahía Mita is one of my favorite wedding resorts in Riviera Nayarit because it gives couples something many resorts can’t: options.
Whether you’re dreaming of an intimate garden ceremony, an oceanfront celebration, or an elegant reception under the stars, the resort offers several beautiful locations that can be adapted to your vision.
One of the biggest advantages is the dedicated wedding team. Their experience and organization make the planning process much smoother, especially for couples planning their destination wedding from abroad.
I’ve photographed more than 10 weddings here, and no two celebrations have ever looked the same.

Beautiful ocean views throughout the resort
Modern and elegant architecture
Multiple ceremony and reception options
Great variety for portraits without leaving the venue

Located about one hour from Puerto Vallarta International Airport, Secrets Bahía Mita is an adults-only luxury resort overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
The resort shares its property with Dreams Bahía Mita, giving couples the flexibility of an adults-only experience while still allowing friends and family with children to stay nearby.
One of the things I enjoy most about photographing weddings here is the variety of ceremony and reception locations. Every couple can create a wedding day that feels unique instead of following the same layout as every other destination wedding.

Secrets & Dreams Bahía Mita offers several ceremony locations, each with its own atmosphere. If privacy is important to you, I often recommend Bahía Mita Garden or The Nest, since they’re farther from the public pool areas and create a more intimate experience.
One of the biggest mistakes I see is scheduling summer ceremonies around 5:00 pm. During the warmer months, this is often one of the hottest parts of the day, with stronger sunlight.
A small adjustment to the timeline can make your ceremony much more comfortable for your guests while also creating softer, more flattering light for your photos.
The resort is larger than many couples expect, and you’ll likely spend time walking between locations throughout the day. Comfortable shoes, at least until the ceremony begins, can make a big difference.
I usually recommend setting aside around one hour for couple portraits. This gives us enough time to visit the beach, the beach garden, and a few other beautiful locations without feeling rushed or taking you away from your guests for too long.

Perfect during sunset, especially during summer months when the sun sets over the ocean.

Lush green garden, perfect for potraits with a jungle backdrop

The ultimate private area, here you can have your whole wedding, from the getting ready to the reception

A quieter location with a beautiful look to the ocean, one of my favorite spots for portraits.

Every wedding is different, but this is the timeline I recommend most often to maximize beautiful light while keeping the day relaxed.

Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming, especially from another country. I’m happy to answer questions about photography, timelines, lighting, or even help you decide which ceremony location fits your plans best.
If you’re getting married at Secrets & Dreams Bahía Mita, I’d love to hear about your wedding.
I personally reply within 24 hours
Secrets Bahía Mita is located in Riviera Nayarit, about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta. The resort sits on a beautiful stretch of coastline with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean.
If privacy is important to you, Bahía Mita Garden and The Nest are two of my favorite ceremony locations because they’re farther from the public pool areas while still offering beautiful scenery.
It depends on your priorities and your wedding timeline. Secrets Bahía Mita has several beautiful locations that work perfectly for a private first look, and I’m always happy to help couples decide what works best for their day.
I usually recommend about one hour. This allows us to photograph in several locations throughout the resort without feeling rushed and without keeping you away from your guests for too long.

Yes. While Secrets Bahía Mita is an adults-only resort, the neighboring Dreams Bahía Mita welcomes families, making it a great option for couples who want an adults-only stay while still accommodating guests traveling with children.
